KERRISMA NORWEGIAN FOREST CATS

We are small cattery located in Halifax, NS. Our cats are registered with ACFA, CFA, CFF and TICA.

The Norwegian Forest Cat originated in Norway. It is also know as the Skogkatt (which means forest cat). Devoted fans of the breed refer to them as Wegies.  When the breed was imported to North America it was given the name Norwegian Forest Cat. It is celebrated in Norse mythology and nineteenth century Nordric fables.

​

The Norwegian Forest Cat is a large, semi-longhaired cat. Average females may weigh between 8 and 12 pounds while average males weigh between 10 and 16 pounds. 

They get along with other pets as well as their humans. They enjoy hanging out with their owners. They are friendly, highly intelligent and alert. They tend to get along well in new environments and with other cat breeds, dogs and children.
